Instructions:                 * See Frequently Asked Questions for additional information *

1.  Collect & Group Pictures:

Start by collecting and grouping all of the pictures you would like to include in the video. This can be a fun process for both immediate and extended family.  Group the pictures into sections that make sense and tell the story.  For “This is your life”, Birthdays, and Anniversaries, pictures are usually grouped and organized in chronological order.

The grouping you choose will be the basis of the story.   * Put each group of pictures in a Folder, Bag, or Box.

Examples:    The Early Years, The Groovy 60’s, The Wedding, Raising the family, The Grandchildren, ect.

2.  Organize and Order Pictures:

Once your pictures have been collected and placed into groups, review them to decide what order or sequence you would like them to appear in the video.  Picture order is typically chronological, but can be any order you feel makes sense.  Once the pictures are in order, carefully number each picture on the back and place then back into their Folder, Bag, or Box.  Post-it notes are a great way to number your pictures.

When we receive your pictures we will scan and record the group and order of each picture based on the order you selected.  The picture order will also be used as the basis for the storyline of the video.

3.  Title of Video:

This title will be used in the video as well as on the Labels and the DVD cases.

Examples:    Chris & Gail’s Wedding, Bill and Donna’s 50th Anniversary, Jack’s 70th Birthday, Allie’s first competition, Walt Disney World Vacation – 2006, Josh’s First Communion, 5th Grade Graduation.

4.  Pick Section Titles for the video:

Each group of pictures will be put into individual sections or chapters in the video.  The Section Titles will identify each section or chapter of the video and should provide a high level description for the groupings you put your pictures in.  Section Titles are also used to set the tone or message you want a particular section to convey to the viewer.

Sections divide the video into meaningful moments in time or events.  See the examples below.

Examples:       The Early Years, Growing up, The Groovy 60’s, The Wedding, Friends and Family, The Grandchildren.

5.  Pick Music for each Section:

Each section can have its own music background.  We can take music from CDs, or from electronic sources.  Indicate the Song title, The CD it’s from, the track number, and the artist in the worksheet.   * Song Suggestions *

If the Artist is not known, just list the song title and we will try to locate the song for you.

Examples:       Song:    You’re The Inspiration

                        Artist:   Chicago

                        CD:      Chicago, Greatest Hits 1982-1989

                        Track:  07
